Solomon Islands Flowerpecker - The Midget Flowerpecker is a species of bird in the Dicaeidae family. It is found in the Solomon Islands including Bougainville Island which belongs to Papua New Guinea. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

 

Thick-billed Flowerpecker - The Thick-billed Flowerpecker is a tiny bird in the flowerpecker group. They feed predominantly on fruits and are active birds that are mainly seen in the tops of trees in forests. It is a resident bird with a wide distribution across tropical southern Asia from India east to Indonesia and Timor with several populations recognized as subspecies.

Plain Flowerpecker - The Plain Flowerpecker is a tiny bird in the flowerpecker family. Like others of the group, it feeds predominantly on nectar and fruits. They forage within the canopy of forests and are found distributed across South and Southeast Asia. They are non-migratory and the widespread distribution range includes several populations that are non-overlapping and morphologically distinct, some of which are recognized as full species. They are important pollinators and dispersers of mistletoes in forests.

Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker - The specific epithet cruentatus 'bloodstained' is derived from the Latin verb cruentare 'to stain with blood'.

 

Dicaeum erythrorhynchos - This is a tiny bird, 8 cm long, and is one of the smallest birds occurring in most parts of southern India and Sri Lanka. The bird is plain brownish to olive green. The underside is buff olive and does not contrast greatly with the upperparts and not whitish as in the Nilgiri Flowerpecker of the Western Ghats and Nilgiri hills nor is it streaked as in the Thick-billed Flowerpecker. The Nilgiri Flowerpecker has a pale supercilium unlike this species which has no marking on the head. The Sri Lankan race ceylonense Babault, 1920 - is greyer and smaller than the nominate race of peninsular India.

 

White-throated Flowerpecker - The nominate subspecies D. e. erythrothorax is restricted to Buru. The other subspecies D. e. schistaceiceps is found on Halmahera and nearby islands and is sometimes regarded as a separate species, the Halmahera Flowerpecker.

 

Red-banded Flowerpecker - Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

 

Red-capped Flowerpecker - A common but inconspicuous tiny bird with short bill and tail, red cap, rump and, in the male, red spot on the breast.

Visayan flowerpecker - Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, and rural gardens. It is threatened by habitat loss.

 

Mistletoebird - The Mistletoebird is small, 9–10 cm long and 7.5–11 g weight. The male is glossy blue-black above, with a red chest and a slight red undertail, and a black centre stripe running down its white belly. The female is dark grey above, with a white throat, light grey underparts, and just a touch of pinkish-red under the tail. The eyes, bill and legs are black; the bill is just over a centimetre long, slender, slightly downcurved and sharply pointed. Immature birds are similar to the female, but have an orange-pink bill instead of black.

Fire-breasted Flowerpecker - The Fire-breasted Flowerpecker is a species of bird in the Dicaeidae family found in South and Southeast Asia. Like other flowerpeckers, this tiny bird feeds on fruits and plays an important role in the dispersal of fruiting plants. Unlike many other species in the genus, this species has marked sexual dimorphism with the male having contrasting upper and lower parts with a distinctive bright orange breast patch. The female is dull coloured.

 

Yellow-bellied Flowerpecker - It is found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are temperate forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

 

Black-sided Flowerpecker - The Black-sided Flowerpecker is a species of bird in the Dicaeidae family. It is found in Indonesia and Malaysia in northern Borneo. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Other possible sites for this species are in Malabuyoc. The current population is estimated to be between 85 and 105.

San Cristobal Flowerpecker - The White-mottled Flowerpecker or Mottled Flowerpecker is a species of bird in the Dicaeidae family. It is endemic to Makira in the Solomon Islands. Its inhabits primary forest and secondary growth, most commonly in the mountains.
