The Fork-marked Lemur is very vocal, a mean of 30 loud calls an hour (emitted only by the males) have been counted in a radius of about 200 m in Marosalaza forest, olfactory signals appear to be much less important in this species than in other nocturnal prosimians (Charles-Dominique and Petter, 1980).
