The Pinstriped basslet lives in the reef-associated, marine, depth range 3 - 46 m , usually 15 - 46 m environment.
The Pinstriped Basslet was originally known from only the Red Sea, but when Randall (1988) reported a collection from the Tuamotu Archipelago, Liopropoma mitratum instantly became the species with the broadest (not largest) distribution of the genus. Photo courtesy of John Randall. More
