Atlantic eelpout

Zoarces viviparus, the North Atlantic eelpout (Family Zoarcidae), is very unusual in that the female gives birth to fully formed young. Parental care is rare in fishes but occurs in pipe fishes and sea horses (Family Syngnathidae). More
