The Malawi Gar (Lichnochromis acuticeps) is a ray-finned fish species in the monotypic genus Lichnochromis. Though it reminds of a gar in habitus, it is actually in the teleost family Cichlidae and thus as distantly related to gars as living Neopterygii can possibly be. More
