The Spot-winged Parrotlet is one of four parrotlet species that are listed as vulnerable (Appendix II) - the others being the Golden-tailed Parrotlet (Touit surdus), the Red-fronted Parrotlets (Touit costaricensis formerly Touit dilectissima costaricencis) and the Yellow-faced Parrotlet (Forpus xanthops).
