Josephine's Lorikeet was unknown in aviculture until the late 1970 are. Not many have been imported and it is not well established. Perhaps only inGermany and the Netherlands are there a few breeding pairs. I do not know of any in the UK because of the shortage of females. Its future in aviculture does not seem assured ó and a European Studbook would, if initiated, at least provide some ideas of the numbers held. More
