The Okinawa Woodpecker , is a woodpecker endemic to the island of Okinawa in Japan. It is the only member of the genus Sapheopipo.

The Dendrocopos noguchii is classified as Critically Endangered (CR), facing an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild.
