As we are likely to get reasonably close to the Suriname border, another bird we will be on the look-out for is the Arowhead (Guianan) Piculet, a species which has seemingly not been reliably recorded in Guyana.This species can, however, be found not too far into Suriname and it seems not unlikely that it occurs somewhere amongst the remaining pockets of suitable coastal vegetation in Guyana.
