The Red-throated Parrotfinch is native of New Caledonia. Birds with normal color have a bright green body, face and tail protruding red. The sexes are very similar. They differ in their approach to the colors duller in the female. It feeds on seeds of alpiste, millet, white, panic, and niger seed lawns.
