Quail-plover

The Lark Buttonquail or Quail-plover is a species of bird in the Turnicidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Ortyxelos. It is found in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda.

The Quail-plover is classified as Least Concern. Does not qualify for a more at risk category. Widespread and abundant taxa are included in this category.
