The Collared Falconet is a scarce species and somewhat irregular in appearance. It occurs in open forest, clearings and forest edges in the Himalayan foothills intermittently from Uttaranchal (these pictures were taken by Mike in Corbett National Park in December 2003) east to Bhutan and also in a small part of Orissa.
