The Black-headed Trogon (Trogon melanocephalus) occurs on the Atlantic slope of s.e. Mexico southward to Costa Rica. The newly-fledged bird shown here was photographed in August, 2000, along a woodland trail near Felipe Carillo, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
