Three separate sightings of Stierling's Woodpecker were a major highlight for many, especially since this little woodpecker is quite difficult to find outside of Malawi. Another highlight was the opportunity to watch a pair of Souza's Shrikes feeding a fledgling. On the morning of 19 November, the group climbed a large wooded hill south of the lodge. After some hard work and initial frustration, we all eventually had good views of a pair of Boulder Chats, a rare and localized bird in Malawi. More
