A beautiful picture of a Red-necked Woodpecker, made by Foek Chin Joe in Suriname and under it a photo, made by Stephan Ferrier near Republiek in Suriname in 2003. This woodpecker is easily ecognisable with its red head, neck and chest. As so often it is peering around the stem to see what is happening at the other side. Its strong tailfeathers, which it pushes against the tree for support, are well visible. More
