Golden-winged Tody-flycatcher in addition to a superb Coppery-chested Jacamar that appeared 'at the death' just as it seemed we were doomed to miss that highly desired foothill species. Our time in the high paramos of El Cajas was productive and frustrating, proving there is always something that gives you the run around as the usual Violet-throated Metaltails had taken a leave of absence. However, Chimborazo Hillstars, Mouse-colored Thistletails and a bunch of Tit-like Dacnises kept us busy up in the highlands. More
