The Grey Elaenia is a species of bird in the Tyrannidae family. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
The Gray Elaenia is classified as Least Concern. Does not qualify for a more at risk category. Widespread and abundant taxa are included in this category.
Gray Elaenia is generally considered a species of eastern Panama, although Ridgely notes in the latest edition that there were a few sight reports from Pipeline Road (he somewhat dismissively amends this observation by noting that no specimens were collected- on behalf of birders everywhere let me apologize for failing to carry a shotgun on all field trips!).
