It is constructed 1.5 – 8 m high in thorny trees or shrub, especially bull’s-horn acacia.

Rufous-naped Wrens build globular nests in thorny trees or in cacti, and they not only use these large, comfy nests for breeding, but the family groups also use them for sleeping. Rufous-naped Wrens are quite bold and very easy to locate by sound as the mated pairs and family members use their harsh, rasping calls to keep track of each other as they search for insects or nesting material. The adult Rufous-naped Wren is 17 cm long and weighs 36 g. It has a black crown and eyestripe separated by a strong white supercilium (line above eye), a rufous nape, and cinnamon brown upperparts streaked with black and white, especially on the rump. The wings and tail are barred with black and greyish-white. The underparts are white. Young birds have duller upperparts and buff underparts. More
