Mountain Black-eye while Sunda Bush-warbler, Bornean Stubtail, that was once considered a Cettia, White-browed Shortwing, Everett's Thrush, and Black-capped White-eye, though found at elevations below Timpohon Gate, also inhabit the higher zones. Lower and middle altitudes are richest in avifauna with some of Kinabalu's scarcer denizens such as Mountain Serpent-eagle, Red-breasted and Crimson-headed Partridges, Black-throated Barbet, Fruithunter and Pygmy White-eye.
