The Spotted Bush Warbler from Jiuzhaigou this year is of the subspecies davidi, or 'David's Bush-Warbler' Bradypterus (thoracicus) davidi (Forktail 10, P.D. Round & V. Loskot). Whereas the Spotted Bush Warbler I photographed at Jiuzhaigou last year is Bradypterus thoracicus thoracicus. I presume the davidi bird was a migrant on passage, very strange, we saw and heard several, long buzzzz song, though last year we just saw the typical breeding thoracicus birds. More
