Nearly 12,000 people live in the Natma Taung national park which includes Mount Victoria, and their fires and traps add to the pressure on the nuthatch. More

piping-calls of the endemic White-browed Nuthatch drew our attention to these stars of the area which appeared in a nearby tree and we enjoyed excellent views of these striking birds – amazingly we were to enjoy multiple sightings of this delightful birds on all but one day of our visit!
