The Black-collared Bulbul (Neolestes torquatus) is a species of songbird in the Pycnonotidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Neolestes. Black-collared Bulbul is a bulbul Doubt has long existed over the taxonomic status of the Black-collared Bulbul Neolestes torquatus, it being variously treated as a member of the Pycnonotidae or as a shrike (Malaconotidae, Laniidae or Prionopidae ).
