A surprise on this occasion was a Mountain (aka Long-tailed) Wagtail picking its way around the few rock-pools that are left in the river bed: this is a species I’ve only ever seen along fast-running upland streams before, so I assume that somewhere along it’s length the River Gogo must have water in it.
