Great Sparrow

This is a 15–16 cm long sparrow superficially like a large House Sparrow. It has a grey crown and rear neck and rufous upperparts.

The Great Sparrow is classified as Least Concern. Does not qualify for a more at risk category. Widespread and abundant taxa are included in this category.

The Great Sparrow War was over. Mao declared victory and called the whole thing off. Mostly, the Chinese were killing Tree Sparrows, close relatives of House Sparrows.
