Slender-billed Oriole, to being robust, deep and broad, as is the bill of the Sao Tome Oriole and some races of the Black-naped Oriole, to being rather short and like that of a bulbul (Pycnonotidae), as demonstrated by the Western Black-headed Oriole. On 28th December, Upali Ekanayake observed a Purple-backed Starling, in a small flock of Grey-headed Mynas, in Uda Walawe National Park. This is the first record of Purple-backed Starling. Hiran Cooray (22 Dec ) reports a single European Bee-eater from Meda Para around 5.45 pm. More
