The Rufous-winged Sunbird has a small range and is known from less than ten locations in the Udzungwa Mountains. It occurs in Mwanihana and Iwonde forests in Udzungwa Mountains National Park, in forests at Ukami, Ndundulu and Nymbanitu in the West Kilombero Scarp Forest Reserve, and in Katemele, Kiranzi-Kitungulu and Udzungwa Scarp Forest Reserves. Although it may be assumed that suitable habitat occurs in intervening, non-protected areas, continuing deforestation and forest degradation is a considerable threat. More
