The Chuuk Monarch is a large monarch flycatcher, around 20 cm long. The plumage of this species is sexually dimorphic, with the male having almost entirely white plumage with a black face and throat and the female having entirely black plumage. The large bill is pale blue.
The Truk Monarch is classified as Endangered (EN), considered to be facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild.

I saw a small flock of Tufted Ducks on the main reservoir North of the airport. In the late afternoon, I took the taxi again to some forest about 1 mile along the first left hand turning after passing the sports centre ($10 and $10/hr of waiting time).
