The Grey-crested Cacholote is a species of bird in the Furnariidae family. It is sometimes known as the Rufous Cacholote, but this is potentially confusing, as this name also was used for the combined species when P. unirufa was considered a subspecies of P. cristata.
The Rufous Cacholote is classified as Least Concern. Does not qualify for a more at risk category. Widespread and abundant taxa are included in this category.
