The Rufous-fronted Thornbird occupies arid scrub in four disjunct regions of South America. The northern population occurs in northeastern Colombia and in Venezuela; the western population resides in southern Ecuador and northern Peru; the eastern population occurs in eastern Brazil; and the southern population occupies eastern Bolivia and southern Brazil.
