Creamy-breasted Canastero

The Rusty-vented Canastero or Creamy-breasted Canastero is a species of bird in the Furnariidae family. It is found in the Andes Mountains in Peru, Chile, Bolivia, and northwestern Argentina. Its habitat is montane scrub or open Polylepis forest. The taxonomy of the Creamy-breasted Canastero is complicated. There are five subspecies: arequipae of southwestern Peru, western Bolivia, and northern Chile; huancavelicae and usheri, both found in south central Peru; consobrina of southwestern Bolivia, and dorbignyi of central Bolivia and northwestern Argentina.

The Creamy-breasted Canastero is classified as Least Concern. Does not qualify for a more at risk category. Widespread and abundant taxa are included in this category.

The taxonomy of the Creamy-breasted Canastero is complicated. There are five subspecies: arequipae of southwestern Peru, western Bolivia, and northern Chile; huancavelicae and usheri, both found in south central Peru; consobrina of southwestern Bolivia, and dorbignyi of central Bolivia and northwestern Argentina.
