The Yellow-Throated Seedeater is a species of finch in the Fringillidae family. It is found only in Ethiopia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Not long thereafter a beautiful Yellow-throated Serin perched out in the morning sun on the crater rim. We started heading back down enjoying Abysinnian Yellow-rumped serin on the way. After stopping off in a local village for some cold Cokes we visited the nearby oasis where we were treated to Defasa Waterbuck and a big group of Hamadrayas Baboons. Bird-wise the rest of the day produced Abyssinian Scimitarbill, our first Kori Bustard, Grey Wren Warbler and a group of over 10 Egyptian Vultures. More
