Rusty-breasted Antpitta and Golden-winged Manakin too. While not strictly within the park, YacambĂș abuts on the xeric habitats which characterise NW Venezuela and one only has to descend a few kilometres towards Barquisimeto to be in with a chance of dry country endemics like Slender-billed Inezia and Tocuyo Sparrow. for the Rusty-breasted Antpitta which is was recently discovered in 2003. We also go in search of the the rare White-tailed Shrike-Tyrant which lives in a semi arid area near Calacali. With some luck and patience we will get a quick visit of the exotic Ocellated Tapaculo that comes out of the thick and dark mountain bamboo or his relative the Blackish Tapaculo. We can see the Burrowing Owl in plain day and the Barn Owl at night. More
