The Blue-capped Cordonbleu is present from the southern part of Somalia until the central part of Tanzania. It is characterized by its intense blue color of the head, chest and hips. Astrild head is often confused with the blue cordon blue, but unlike the latter is distinguished by the larger blue on the head, the lack of red cheeks and the red hue of the bill. It feeds mainly on small seeds of panic, canary grass, millet, niger and small insects. More
