Ross’s Turaco and Grey-headed Oliveback were seen by most of the group, while two fine raptors were seen by only the lucky, Western Banded Snake Eagle by Jonathan, and Ovambo Sparrowhawk spotted and photographed by Andy over the lodge. Apparently Martin managed to drag himself from his chair for some views of the latter before it soared out of view. And with that it was time to leave. The Grey-headed Oliveback is present in Central Africa, Guinea, and eastward to southern Nigeria. He looks round with dimensions not exceeding 14 cm, with a distinctive pattern on the head gray with white cheeks, and chin and black throat. The rest of the coat is gray-brown with olive green back. It feeds mainly on small seeds of panic, canary grass, millet, Niger and small insects. More
