The bamboo specialist Uniform Finch is a very rare bird in Paraguay. It is one of a group of species that move about nomadically in search of flowering bamboo, somehow able to sense when and where it is likely to happen! As a result they may be present one year in any given location but absent the next, making them very difficult to pin down. More
