A fly-by Black-tipped Cotinga was a highlight of the day. Back on the ground, we hit another big flock and got great looks at Orange-fronted Barbets and Gray-capped Flycatcher. The mammal of the trip was the jagurundi seen loping through the jungle. Getting up the muddy road the next morning was masterful work by our driver. More

Black-tipped Cotinga on top of the canopy - not easy to miss!. After the successes at the mirador we went further up to the ridge trail to prove our luck. We run into a few little flocks which produced a goody in the form of Scarlet-and-white Tanager. A few minutes later some of us got lucky and saw an adult Golden-chested Tanager in the sub-canopy. Stripe-throated Wren, Ochre-breasted Tanager and Tawny-faced Gnatwren were all seen on our way back. More
