Sclater's Lark is a nomadic species, and is found on stony plains with only scattered, low bushes. One of the best ways to see it is to wait at a water trough below a windmill in the vicinity of this harsh terrain, and small groups and pairs will come to drink once the day begins to warm up. More
SCLATER'S LARK BREEDING IN MAY = We went today to a farm adjacent to Steenbokkie Private Nature Reserve to see if we could find some Sclater's Lark. Within about 30 minutes we located a pair of Sclater's Larks busy building a nest. It was very interesting to watch them getting grass to line the nest and one, probably the male, "feeling" little stones to pack around the nest. More
