The Plain-pouched Hornbill is a species of hornbill in the Bucerotidae family. It is found in forests in southern Burma, adjacent parts of western Thailand and in northern Peninsular Malaysia.
The Plain-pouched Hornbill is classified as Vulnerable (VU), considered to be facing a high risk of extinction in the wild.

THE discovery of the rare and elusive plain-pouched hornbill in the Ulu Muda forests in Kedah has made the forests even more attractive to bird watchers from around the globe. It is hoped that the project will contribute towards understanding the ecology and biology of the globally threatened and near-threatened hornbills.
