The Spot-breasted Lapwing is endemic to the Ethiopian highlands where it is locally common in its preferred locations. Outside the breeding season flocks of birds gather most often in marshy areas or near a pond in moorland grassland. The flock can be quite noisy and very active with birds constantly on the move. These birds were photographed in an area of marshy ponds close to the road as we were crossing the Sululta Plains. More
