As dusk approached a Philippine Nightjar showed on an open branch next to the clearing and a short while later as graceful Great Eared Nightjars swooped overhead, a distinctive rattled called saw us scanning the sky for roding Bukidnon Woodcocks. They gave several brief views before passing right over our position, at just a few meters above head height and perfectly captured in the spotlight. More
