The White-tailed Nightjar (Caprimulgus cayennensis) is a species of nightjar in the Caprimulgidae family. It is found in Aruba, Barbados, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Martinique, Netherlands Antilles, Panama, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. White-tailed Nightjar may in fact be relatively common in select open areas of the Pacific slope, but it is seldom-reported in any forum. A bird found roosting at Tocumen Marsh in September of 2006 (a lovely photograph by Dustin Huntington is shared below) was a life bird for Carlos Bethancourt, and a new bird for the Canopy Tower's list.
