The Canivet's Emerald is classified as Least Concern. Does not qualify for a more at risk category. Widespread and abundant taxa are included in this category.
Canivet's Emerald (Chlorostilbon canvetii). The Emerald is a year-round resident and is quite tame, allowing close approach and touching on occassion. These are curious, friendly hummers. The Canivet's Emerald is one of only two hummingbirds on Utila (other is Green Breasted Mango) and are regularly and easily seen in town at feeders and on hibiscus and other flowers. - Janice has marked this note useful Only registered TrekNature members may rate photo notes.
