The Mangrove Hummingbird is a threatened, range-restricted species. It is entirely endemic to the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, where it is found only in mangroves and occassionally in adjacent habitats. This is a medium sized, bronze and green hummingbird of the widespread, speciose genus Amazilia. The male has a bluish-green throat and chest, a white belly, and a forked tail. The crown and upper parts are green, with a bronze tinge to the rump and tail. More
