The new fish, which has been named Cyprichromis coloratus, has just been described by Takahashi and Hori of Kyoto University in a paper in the latest issue of the Journal of Fish Biology. More

Practical Fishkeeping reports cyprichromis coloratus exists in several colors, including some with purple or yellow tails. The fish is found in deep water with rocky bottoms. Females and sub-adult males form schools of tens of hundreds. More
