We believe that Channa diplogramma is, in fact, Channa micropeltes, introduced during the days of sailing ships to the Kerala Coast from southeastern Asia. Prachya disagrees, and plans to recognize Channa diplogramma as a distinct species. Only DNA evidence will decide this argument. More
