Oahu pricklyash

Zanthoxylum oahuense, commonly known as A?e or O?ahu Prickly-ash, is a species of flowering plant in the citrus family, Rutaceae, that is endemic to the island of O?ahu in Hawaii. It is a small tree, reaching a height of 5 m . It is threatened by habitat loss.

The Oahu pricklyash develops in an erect manner and, as the years go by, becomes a tree. These plants have an erect development; in the lower part they usually show a bare stem, while towards the top they widen to form the crown. The Oahu pricklyash is medium in size and 8 m in height; in the summer it assumes a yellowgreen colouring. These plants aren't evergreens, which means they lose their leaves some months during the year. More
