Latania lontaroides

Latania lontaroides in all of California, so there may be difficulties encountered later in life, too, since many hundreds have been tried for more than 15 years now. In Florida, trunking is seen in just 3-4 years (much warmer climate!). I did notice in Hawaii that this species loses its juvenile colors a lot later than the other two species do, and there are many specimens there growing with 3-6' of trunk that still have the deep green leaves lined with brilliant red.
