Australian whiting

The King George whiting is the only species nested in the genus Sillaginodes, which itself is in the family Sillaginidae, containing all the smelt whitings.

The Australian whiting lives in the demersal, non-migratory, brackish, marine, depth range 2 - 200 m , usually 2 - 18 m environment.
