Black Sea Shad is a species of fish in the Clupeidae family.

The Black Sea shad lives in the pelagic-neritic, brackish, marine environment.

alongside anchovy, horse mackerel, whiting and Black Sea shad in smaller quantities. Rapana venosa (8,200 tonnes in 2005) is a large sea snail hand picked from the seabed by divers. Other small-scale fishery targets include bluefish, Black Sea turbot, common spiny and Atlantic bonito. More
