Rummy-nose tetra

The rummy-nose Tetra is a torpedo-shaped fish, whose basal body colour is a translucent silvery colour suffused in some specimens with a greenish tint: iridescent green scales are frequently seen adorning the fish at the point where the fontanel meets the body.

Hemigrammus rhodostomus is the "true" rummy-nose tetra and is sometimes referred to as the "Banded Rummy-Nose." It is found closer to the Atlantic coastline. It is considered to be easier to breed than the other two rummy-nose tetras. It requires quite soft and acidic water. More
